Community Service with NKF x SGCares
The students gathered in the Multifunctional Room to watch the recently released hit that had the internet buzzing, KPop Demon Hunters.
At Brentvale College International, we believe that education extends far beyond textbooks and exams. It is important we also cultivate empathy, compassion, and a strong sense of community. This month, we partnered with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and SGCares, giving our students the opportunity to give back to the community through service.
Every Wednesday after school, a group of our students visits an NKF Dialysis Centre, where they spend time with patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Their role is to offer companionship, share stories, and bring positivity into the patients’ day. Though their time spent together is brief, the impact is clear.
Our students have embraced the experience, connecting deeply with the patients they meet. Many have reflected that the visits have helped them to better understand the importance of resilience and gratitude, especially in the face of challenging situations.
This activity was organised as part of Brentvale College International’s holistic development initiative, the A.C.E.S programme, designed to empower students through Academic support, Community engagement, Enrichment opportunities, and Support both in and out of the classroom. The A.C.E.S programme encourages students to grow not only as learners but also as compassionate and socially responsible individuals.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm and dedication to this initiative. Their visits in the coming months will allow them to continue spreading warmth and encouragement to the NKF community. We thank NKF and SGCares for the opportunity they have presented us.
